Transcription: The initial recording of Hummingbirds took place in January 92 at Ocean Ray Studios in Hollywood, California. To allow for maximum flexibility in later production stages, we created I think a fairly complex setup. Two of the four players, the flutist and the cellist, were recorded live. In order to maintain the highest possible signal quality, we routed their microphones directly through a mic preamp into a Yamaha DMR8 digital recorder, completely bypassing recording console and any other signal processing gear.
